Ethnocentrism is the idea that some cultures are superior to others; this marginalizes and alienates many cultures causing conflicts. This can be seen in a lot of places especially in the country of Indonesia. Ethnocentrism has become greatly apparent in the country. There are examples of Indonesian consumers refusing to purchase Indonesian traditional textiles that were produced and made in china. This was proven in a study done with 200 Indonesian participants. They were chosen randomly at tow international trade centers. Eurocentrically, the country has found many new discoveries to over turn European based ideas. Recently, Paintings of bulls and horses have been found in the caves of Indonesia. Previously it was through that cave painting was started and invented in Europe. Alongside a team of scientists they have found more that the paintings are « At least compatible in age with the oldest European art ».
