This photo is titled American Legion Parade taken in Salem, Oregon between 1948-1957. The photo is obviously of a parade that involved children. The Kids are all dressed in matching dresses with one leading the rest. Judging by the lighting and shadows made it seems like a nice sunny day. I thought the outfit choice was interesting because in that time period the dresses seem a little short for the kids so I wonder if it controversial or not. Also this image seems much older based off of what people are wearing in the crowd and the simplistic advertisement displays depicted in the background.

This photo was taken at a children’s parade in New York City in 2011. As you can see there is still a group of kids that are dressed a like and preforming a choreographed dance in unison. The one thing I noticed about the two photographs that there are only girls shown in the picture and both groups has short clothing on. In the photograph taken in 2011 it became aware to me that there is diversity in the mix of girls where as the photo taken much earlier shows only Caucasian female kids. Also the colored photograph brings a lot of light and life to the overall image where as the black and white photograph you have to look into the crowd and more carefully at the expressions on each individual
