Christian As Family Advocates

Project Portfolio Description

Christians as Family Advocates (CAFA) help individuals, couples, and families of
Lane County impacted by domestic violence, with help provided by master’s level providers.
Services offered by CAFA to their clients range from supervised visitation sessions to anger
management and parenting classes. As many organizations have had to change into an online
format due to COVID-19, Christians as Family Advocates now offers most of their class
programming over Zoom. While Zoom is an effective tool for communication during the
pandemic, it does not permanently hold information long-term. To accomplish a seamless
experience for clients participating in virtual Zoom classes, it is vital that agencies maintain a
functional web-based resources and links page to supplement clients’ online experience.
The objective of this project was to redevelop the current Resources and Links
section on the agency’s main website to create a database of local and online resources for
parents and families. Developing a web-based resources on the internet can help strengthen
self-efficacy of the clients while participating in the program as well as after graduation. The
search for additional content and creation of the database tripled the number of resources for
parents and doubled the resources for those impacted by domestic violence. There were also
two new digital Safety Plans that were developed as a result of this work.
