Project Portfolio Description
The Creation and Development of a Resource Folder for Buckley Sobering & Detox
Buckley Sobering and Detox is an agency part of Willamette Family that works with individuals struggling with substance use. Individuals are monitored 24/7 by qualified medical staff as they detox in the facility for about 3-5 days. During their stay at Buckley, clients are required to complete an assessment where case managers collect information about their life and refer them to different treatment facilities. Whether a client chooses to stick with their referral, it’s important for clients to receive at least one resource they can utilize outside the facility. This project is intended to help clients find the most useful resources for their journey of recovery. Many factors play a role in one’s recovery which is why it’s important to include a wide variety of resources. The folder consists of six sub folders that give clients extensive lists of resources available in Oregon and most importantly, Lane County. If these resources help clients outside the facility, the agency should see a decrease in their recidivism rate. The project is online and available for updates, changes and edits. Buckley will benefit from this resource for years, but it’s recommended that employees keep information updated. Since agencies are constantly changing, contact information may change and that can affect a client’s ability to reach out. Overall, this project will benefit the agency and they people they serve. Case managers will be able to better help their clients and clients will be able to better help themselves.
