Project Portfolio Description

       My project has been conducted at the Family Resource Center (FRC) located inside Two

Rivers-Dos Rios Elementary School. This center is one of nine Family Resource Centers that can

be found in Springfield Public Schools. These centers provide families and students with

connections to basic needs, such as food and school materials, and help connect them to

community services. For this project I will be creating a brochure that outlines the different

aspects of Family Resource Centers, such as the specific services that FRCs offer, their

collaborations, and the roles of an FRC coordinator.

        This brochure is something that has not been done before, therefore it will be a great

resource for existing centers, new individuals to the position of center coordinator, and for

schools who may want to create an FRC. Additionally, the brochure is created in such a way that

FRCs can adapt to their liking and needs, and display it in the center so that families that come

into the center can take. Lastly, the material has been translated into Spanish to help reduce any

language barriers that students and families may face.
