Project Portfolio Description
Hosea Youth Services is a non-profit faith-based organization that provides services for youth ages 16-24 who are currently or at risk of experiencing homelessness. Hosea provides the opportunity for youth to experience Christ’s love while also having positive and healthy adult and peer relationships. While Hosea provides services to their clients, one of the main gaps in the community is not having shelter for unhoused youth. Hosea plans to open expand their services and open a shelter. The new space will not only allow to have more space to expand services, but also provide safe housing for their clients experiencing homelessness.
This project aims to provide Hosea a foundational step in their process by giving them a floorplan. The floorplan will have a built environment that will focus on how the use of the new space that will encourage effective and proactive ways to serve clients. The built environment will provide their clients a sense of belonging and safety while also providing them with wrap around services to progress their lives off of the streets. The floorplan will integrate the housing environment, placement of their common space, showers, laundry, and resource room.
