Project Portfolio Description

Relief Nursery is an organization local to the Eugene-Springfield area that seeks to prevent child abuse and neglect. Additionally, they act as a resource for parents, drug and alcohol support, and have their very own therapeutic preschool. This project is aimed at providing a tool for the children in these therapeutic classrooms to help communicate their emotions. This allows for the teachers and parents to better understand the child’s strengths and needs, as well as providing a visual tool for the children to view and express their emotions. In the future this will be set up in all of the classrooms and a version will be sent home with the parents to set up in their own home. Additionally, a manual will be created showing the various methods of using this tool to the advantage of both the teacher and the student.
