Project Portfolio Description

St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County (SVdp) is the organization that helped develop the Youth House. The Youth House provides transitional housing for homeless unaccompanied 16-to 18-year-olds who identify as female. This support is provided for a maximum of 24 months. The mission of the program is to assist its residents in becoming self-reliant adults by helping them develop healthy life habits that will help them continue to be successful out in the community. For my senior project I will be developing a Spanish resource guide that will help future Spanish speaking residents at The Youth House navigate through the program itself and the community. There are currently few resources that are presented in another language therefore, this project will help feel everyone included and supported. This project will be beneficial in the future because it will accompany other documents that are already given to new youth who are a part of The Youth House. Not only that, but the resources for Spanish speaking youth will all be gathered in a presentation to make it accessible to those who wish to seek help.
