University of Oregon in Partnership with 90by30

Project Portfolio Description

The Center of Prevention of Abuse and Neglect in the University of Oregon is committed to “developing, implementing and researching collective impact and public health approaches.” The CPAN focuses on the 90by30 initiative in its goal to reduce child abuse and neglect by 90% in Lane County by the year 2030. In its effort in decreasing child abuse and neglect within Lane County, the Children’s engagement project was inspired to fulfill the lack of beneficial child engagement activities. The Children’s project works with parents/guardians in an effort to build quality communications about child reflections on simple words and their thought processes based on their artistic creations encouraging healthy communication styles. The goal is to bring light on the importance of communications between child and parents involvement in healthy family bonding strategies, and how society can be able to aid in building a safe environment for children behind closed doors.
