Project Portfolio Description

The College and Career Center at Thurston High School is a resource center that is available to all students to help prepare them for a college or career after graduation. Thurston’s College and Career Center’s mission is to support students who are college bound, looking for apprenticeships, interested in joining the military, or going straight into the workforce. As a resource the Center provides workshops, one-on-one support, and individualized support based on student interest and need. Open daily, and currently virtually, students are able to join the space and work with mentors to explore college and career options, receive guidance and work with a mentor on the steps needed to meet goals. My project provides additional support to students and new resources for the career focus of Thurston’s mission. Targeting juniors and seniors, my project developed programs and opportunities to support students with the necessary tools and information to successfully enter the workforce or a career path after high school graduation.
