Project Portfolio Description
Transition Education Network, known as TEN, is a specialized instruction program designed for higher-functioning students with disabilities through the Eugene School District 4J. Courses offered through this program include vocational skills, cooking, daily living skills and more. The purpose of the program is to encourage students to develop necessary skills to help them grow as individuals beyond high school. It is likely that achievement gaps will emerge as a result of the effects of the pandemic on students. Lower income students will experience larger setbacks because of lack of access to resources compared to others. Schools have been faced with the financial burden of accommodating for remote learning and resources are limited. A school supply drive could play a crucial role in providing students with physical learning supplies that will not only help them in school but make them eager and excited to participate. In total, my fundraiser raised $160 for the TEN Program, $60 of which were donated as excess funds to support the staff and students in hybrid learning.
