Project Portfolio Description

The Intercultural Mentoring Program Advancing Community Ties (IMPACT) is a mentoring program for First-generation and students of color. We are a peer to peer mentoring program that supports students to navigate the difficult transition into college by giving them a community and resources they will need to succeed in higher education. To increase IMPACT’s retention rate, Some Good News (SGN) was created to increase engagement with our members during down times. The project was not very successful as we did not have much participation from our members. To increase the efficacy of this project, I would need to advertise our Instagram page more as it is where the project takes place. I would also change the timing to advertise the end of Fall and post in Winter. I would also look at what platforms are most active by the students and use that platform for the project.
