Here is a list of fun activities that your family can enjoy during the month of January!

  1. Join the University of Oregon Gospel Singers during their Martin Luther King, Jr Day Celebration. This is a free event where families can go to listen to power songs celebrating the idea’s of M.L.K Jr. This event will take place January 18th and 3pm at the University of Oregon Beall Concert Hall.
  2.  Learn about the history of the beautiful state of Oregon at the Museum of Natural and Cultural History. Delve into Oregon’s story, from the first Americans at Paisley Caves to the dynamic cultures of today’s tribes. This newly enhanced exhibit combines interactive technology, hands-on experiences, and world-class collections – showcasing 14,000 years of Oregon stories, and inviting you to tell your own. Explore the galleries, try your hand at ancient weaving styles, test your skills as an archaeologist and much more! This event reoccurs weekly Tuesday- Sunday from 11am-5pm with a small entry fee of 3-5$.
  3.  Your family is invited to sing and dance every Saturday until the 28th at the Family Music time at the Downtown Eugene Public Library. Enjoy interactive musical sessions with special guests for free starting at 10:15am!
  4. During the month of January, every Sunday can be Family Fun Day! Located at the Downtown Eugene Public Library, families are invited to try exciting new activities such as the Scenes of Narnia, Science in Motion, Chinese New Year, and more!

Fun December Activities!

  1. Embrace five different cultures as group and solo skaters of all ages perform to music from around the world in this year’s Holiday Show on Ice! Entry for your family is one unwrapped gift (of any size) that will be donated to the Relief Nursery. Other than that, admission for family and friends is free!
  2.  Get into the spirit of the season by enjoying an all-time family favorite movie, the Polar Express! Special screenings will be shown at the Science Factory with a low price range of $3-8 on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays!
  3.  Take your family to enjoy the 64th annual Springfield Christmas Parade on Saturday December 3rd at 1pm! Admission to this event is free and filled with fun things everyone can enjoy!
  4. Enjoy fun family activities such as candle dipping, cake walks, puppet shows and games at the Winter Light Fair at Eugene Waldorf School! Admission is free but some booths require tickets that are $2 each.
  5.  It’s snowing!!Bring the whole family down to the 5th St. Market to enjoy a guaranteed snow fall every Friday and Saturday from 6-6:30pm up through December 24th! Entry is free!

Family Friendly November Events

Here are a list of 5 fun events your family can participate in during the month of November!

1.  During the cold month there’s nothing quite like snuggling up to a furry four-legged friend. The Eugene Public Library offers Dog Tale Time every Saturday up until December 10th. This is a an opportunity for kids K-6 to experience one-on-one time reading directly to man’s best friend.

2.  October may be over but there are still plenty of pumpkins ready for chuckin’! The Eugene Science Factory is hosting it’s annual Punkin’ Chunkin’ event November 5th. Watch as local builders launch pumpkins (and apples) hundreds of feel in the air!

3.  Join Kids Club at the Valley River Center on the second Thursday of every month to engage in fun, interactive and educational games for free! They’ve joined up with National Geographic to focus on learning through play! All kiddo’s registered will receive a free Kids Club t-shirt and name lanyard (while supplies last).

4.  Indulge in a Saturday morning movie at Regal Cinema’s Matinee now through December 10th. Enjoy movies such as Storks and Moana for the low price of $6.50!

5.  Pajama Story Time is a new free activity at the Eugene Public Library. This is an early evening story time that happens on the second Tuesday of every month where kiddo’s 0-6 can hear fun stories, rhymes and songs all while they are cozy in their PJ’s!

Fun and Easy Fall Activities

Here is a list of 5 fun and cost effective activities the whole family can enjoy!

  1.  No-Carve pumpkins are a safe activity even the youngest of kiddo’s can enjoy! Here are a list of creative ideas!
  2.  Johnson Farm located in Eugene Oregon has activities such as hay rides, and pumpkin chucking for a low fee!
  3. When it’s cold and rainy out, sometimes the last thing you want to do is brave the outdoors. Here are a list of fun indoor games that can keep the kids occupied and having fun!
  4. Get in touch with the outdoors! Make crafts such as masks, crowns and wristbands using the colored leaves founds all around! Here are a list of examples!
  5. Last but not least, cook together! Linked is a list of family friendly recipes you and your children can make together!
