Our Journey up and around

These first three pictures showcase our journey to Latemar. I discovered my favorite mode of transportation, the ski-lift! These pictures document the passage to the beginning of our hike.

This hike consisted of walking around and up the mountains to reach our rifugio. In the beginning, we could see far across the valley our destination for lunch. I loved being able to experience and see the differences in the mountains as we walked. Depending on the altitude and other natural factors, the rocks changed colors, new plants appeared, and certain animals lived. It was a fascinating hike that allowed for deep exploration of the Dolomites.

Near the middle of our hike, we walked by pasturing fields.

The views were beautiful at Latemar. I thought it was really cool that depending on where we stood, we had a different view of the varying parts of the Dolomite mountains.
