The Messner Museum

Intro: Our visit to the Messner Mountian Museum was definitely a memorable one as we began our journey on an impromptu hike to the museum after the bus driver refused to take us to the top. After we entered the museum and before we were allowed to freely explore the castle we needed to recharge with some espresso.

In this section of the Museum, we were able to learn and see physical fragments of artifacts from all of Italy’s violent history.

This was one of the main gates that led right into the castle’s main courtyard. Separating the castle’s main two towers which focused on mountaineering in the Himalayas.

Even though this museum had a strong focus on the culture of mountaineering, I felt a stronger connection to the views the museum had to offer of the surrounding nature of Bolzano.
