June 3rd, 2017 – ZipLine Adventure

If you like adventure and thrills, you’re gonna love this!  ExplOregon is headed to Rogue Valley ZipLine Adventures on Saturday June 3rd for a bit of Zip-Line fun!  Join us as we fly high above the treetops as we zoom down one of the longest zip-lines in the Pacific Northwest.  With 5 lines to ride and totaling over 1,600 feet of of line- this trip is sure to get your juices flowing and your heart racing.  Not only that! But after we finish up at Rogue Valley we will make our way to the only In-N-Out Burger in the state!  In-N-Out Burger is a West Coast favorite and a must do whenever you are near Medford!  Unfortunately, spots are limited so do not wait to sign up!

WhenSaturday June 3rd, 2017 

Time9:30am – 8:30pm?

Schedule: Please meet in front of the REC Center by 9:30am to take a private charter bus to the Rogue Valley ZipLine Adventures.  We should arrive at the facility around 12:30pm and will embark on our adventure from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.  After we finish up at Rogue Valley we will head down the road to Medford to go to the one and only In-N-Out Burger for some top notch food!  We will leave from Medford around 6:00pm and will make it back to campus around 8:30pm.

May 20th, 2017 – Skinner’s Butte Hike

The weather is nice, term is almost over its time to explore two important spots of Eugene: Skinner Butte and 5th Street Market!  Skinner Butte trail is an easy hike to the top and can be hiked in 30mins to 60mins round trip.  It is the perfect spot for a scenic view of the valley and downtown Eugene.  Then after the hike come with us to visit a few local shops and grab a bite to eat in the 5th Street market district.  So join us this Saturday for sun, fun and hiking!

When: Saturday May 20th, 2017

Schedule: Meet in front of the Duck Store (corner of Kincaid and E 13th Ave) by 9:30am and we will take the public bus to Skinner Butte Park arriving at the park by 10:05am.  The hike should take between 30-60 minutes to finish round trip.  Once we get to the top there is plenty of scenery to take pictures of and explore with your friends.  After we finish the hike we will walk over to the 5th Street Market district to explore some of the unique shops and stores and don’t forget to grab a bite to eat while you are there!  The group will make it back to campus by 2:30pm but of course, you may leave the trip any time you wish.

What to Bring:  bring comfortable shoes and water, a camera, telescope, binoculars, money for any food, souvenirs, and any other things you wish to buy.

April 15th, 2017 – Tulip Festival & Woodburn Outlets

Join us at this year’s Tulip Festival where you can stroll through 40 acres of stunningly beautiful of flowers, expansive views of vineyards, distant mountains. Then Let’s spend the afternoon shopping at the Woodburn Shopping Outlets one of the top shopping locations in Oregon & Washington!

When: Saturday, April 15th

Schedule: Please meet in front of the  REC Center at 8:40am, we will depart from campus at 9:00am and arrive at the Tulip Festival in Woodburn Oregon around 10:30am.  After a few hours taking in the beautiful scenery we will then make our way to the Woodburn Premium Outlets at 12:00pm for lunch and a few hours shopping.  We will return to the Rec Center by 5:00pm.

What to Bring: comfortable clothes, money for shopping, food, souvenirs and any other items you wish to purchase.

Mar. 18th, 2017 – Cosmic Bowling

With finals and exams just around the corner, we at ExplOregon think you deserve a bit of fun and relaxation.  So join us on Saturday March 18th as we head to Strike City for the last event of the Winter term!  So get your shoes, grab your balls and get your bowl on!

When: Saturday, March 18th 2016

Time: 6:05pm to 10:00pm

Schedule: We will meet at McKenzie Hall by 6:05pm to take the Emx from Dad’s Gate Station to Strike City lanes located here in town.  We should arrival at the bowling alley around 6:50pm so that we can start bowling around 7:00pm.  The lanes are on a first come first serve basis so there might be a wait time.  After a few hours of bowling we will head back to campus by 9:15pm and should make it back to campus around 10:00pm.

What to Bring:  comfortable clothes – money/cash for food & drink, phone or camera for pictures.

Feb. 16th, 2017 – Sushi Night

****We have combined both sessions into one 1.5-hour session****

Come to “make your own sushi night!” here on campus.  Here’s how it works: (Step 1) learn how to make sushi (Step 2) eat it! Join us at the Campus Kitchen located near Hayward Field to experience this fabulous and delicious staple of Japanese cuisine. Limited capacity so sign up quickly!

Where: meet on Wednesday, February 16th, at 5:45pm in front of the UO Law Library (located at 1515 Agate Street, across from Hayward Field). We will walk to the Dining facility together at 6:00pm.

What to bring: comfortable clothes, water-bottle, your appetite.

Feb. 11th, 2017 – Silver Falls Hike & BBQ

If you missed it last year – its back again! Some call it the “crown jewel” of the Oregon, and once you visit Silver Falls, you know why.  So Join explOregon as we go visit this beautiful place to do a moderate hike through nature.  Feel free to take lots of photos of the beautiful scenery and end it all with a delicious barbecue!

Time: 8:05am – 5:30pm

Schedule: meet in front of the REC Center by 8:05am because the charter bus will leave campus at 8:30am and we should arrive at the beginning of the hike by 9:45am.  After our hike we will be treated to a delicious barbecue meal.  After we finish eating we will head back to Eugene and should make it back to town around 5:30pm.

What to bring: Water proof jacket, hat and warm clothes, hiking boots – or a sturdy pair of shoes,  thick socks, cold weather gear and any appropriate gear for long nature walks, drinks and snacks, light backpack or fanny pack to hold personal items such as: phone, camera or wallet.

***Please inform me if there are any medical issues, physical limitations or dietary restrictions that I may need to know about.  We will have meat and peanut free food.
