What to Bring: comfortable clothes. Bring money for bowling, any food, rentals, and any other thing you wish to buy. Tell all your friends to join!


Oct. 31st, 2015 – Halloween in the City


explOregon takes you to enjoy the HAUNTED MARKET: a downtown Halloween event. Family and friends alike are welcome to celebrate in revitalized 5th Street Market for trick or treating, Halloween picture opportunity, and good food.

Meet: 5:30pm, Saturday, October 31

Where: at Agate Bus Station. You can leave anytime but we plan to return to the UO before 8:30pm. If you are going on your own, meet us at the Fifth Street Market (296 East 5th Ave – parking will be very hard to find!)

What to bring: HALLOWEEN COSTUME, $3 or 3 cans of food for the Haunted Market. Bring UO ID to ride the bus for free.

Oct. 25th, 2015 – Trip to the Pumpkin Patch


Let’s go, with a traditional yellow school bus, to spend an afternoon to find the perfect pumpkin, going through the mysterious maze, enjoying good food and ice cream, visiting a vegetable market, and spending a traditional American experience that happens every year before Halloween. We will visit the Lone Pine Farms, between Eugene and Coburg (

Optional costs: it is possible to buy pumpkins, vegetables, fruits to bring back. Ice cream and food is also available. If you want to do the corn maze, it will cost $7.00.

When: meet in front of the REC center (watch out for the yellow bus) at 2:30pm on Sunday, October 25. The bus will leave at 3:00pm

Event time: up to 5:00pm. We will be back at the REC center by 5:30pm.

What to Bring: Bring comfortable clothes and shoes. If you plan to buy pumpkins, especially large ones, be prepared!


Oct. 23rd, 2015 – The Frightuary

A haunted house is a house or other building often perceived as being inhabited by spirits or monsters. This is a very traditional halloween attraction that is made to scare you for fun, like a horror movie!!! Bring your friends and have fun exploring this scary place!

Cost: $11 with UO ID, $12 regular – to be paid at the entrance (+3% if using credit card)

When: meet on Friday, October 23, at 19:00 at Agate Bus Station. You can leave anytime but we plan to return to the UO before 22:00. If you are going on your own, meet us at the Eugene Fairgrounds at 796 W 13th Ave (very near campus).

What to bring: Bring UO ID to ride the bus for free and get discount. Comfortable clothes. Costume optional. We HIGHLY recommend that children under age 10 do not attend.

Oct. 17th, 2015 – River & Ocean Cruise in Newport

explOregon goes to Newport!!! We will go on a cruise in the ocean and explore Oregon’s sea life! Depending on the time of year, we look for seals, sea lions, pelicans, bald eagles, possibly gray whales, harbor porpoise, and an abundance of marine birds. Enjoy the incredible scenery of our bay, river, and coastline featuring the largest fishing fleet on the Oregon Coast, our historic bridge, two lighthouses, and fun activities for all ages! Our cruise route varies depending on the ocean conditions. This way, we can provide a cruise that is safe and comfortable as well as an activity you can count on! If the ocean is calm, we will spend most of our time on it. If the ocean is rough, or the conditions change while you are our there, we have 6 miles of bay and river ways to explore!

Cost: $20.00 (includes private bus and cruise ticket)

What to Bring: comfortable and warm clothes – bring appropriate rain gear if it rains. Bring money for any food, shopping, and any other thing you wish to buy. Please make sure you are ready for ocean conditions especially if you suffer from sea sickness.



Oct. 15th, 2015 – Trampoline Fun!!!

Join explOregon for a fun evening jumping around on trampolines! Let’s visit West Eugene and enjoy vertical trampolines, basketball court on trampoline, and a dodge ball trampoline area! Let’s go to Get Air!

Cost: only $8 per hour (includes 1 hour of jumping and Get Air socks that you can keep – $6 for second hour). Sign up here!

What Time: meet at 6pm at EMX Agate Bus Station or meet us at Get Air (4211 W 11th Ave, Eugene). We plan to be back by 9:00pm.

Oct. 11th, 2015 – Whitewater Rafting

11225168_1643506755872060_7590701538322393568_nexplOregon takes you on an adventure up the nearby McKenzie river for a fun day whitewater rafting! We will be guided by Ron’s Guide Services . We will have 6 rafts with Oregon licensed guides so there is space for 50 people!

Cost: $20.00 (includes private bus, lunch, dry bags to store your belongings, and rafting experience and all rafting and safety equipment)

When: meet in front of Rec Center at 8:30am on Sunday, October 11. The bus will leave at 9am and arrive at a river location at 10am. The rafts will stop for lunch at around 12 and the trip ends at 4pm. We will be back by 5:00pm

What to bring: Please pack lightly as you will not need much on the trip. Please bring your own water bottle (we will also have water if needed). Do not wear jeans and regular shoes as they can become VERY VERY COLD when wet. It is best to wear nylon tops/jackets and bottoms. Sandals or river shoes are best for your feet. We will provide dry bags for you personal items such as watches, cameras, wallets etc.
A change of clothes left on the bus for you when we end the trip is also a good idea.

Oct. 8th, 2015 – Youth Farm

1939589_1566941213528615_7436527128294865472_oexplOregon takes you on a fun afternoon doing good things for the community with volunteer work in the Springfield Youth Farm, managed by Food for Lane County. The Youth Farm, grows fresh and nutritious food and helps people gain skills in gardening, nutrition, and community building. You can earn 3 hours of valuable volunteer work experience.

Cost: FREE. Sign up here.

When: meet at 12:20 at Agate Bus Station or meet us at the garden at 705 Flamingo Ave, Springfield. Volunteer work starts at 1pm until 4pm. Arrive back at UO at 4:45pm. If you are going on your own, call Ted if you are lost at 541-221-1814

What to bring: your clothes and shoes can get dirty so be prepared with a change of clothes or to come back all dirty! Bring UO ID to ride the bus for free.
