April 29th, 2017 – Paintball at the Palace

You asked for it and you got it!  On Saturday April 29th, ExplOregon will be heading to Paintball Palace for a 2-hours session of PAINTBALL fun.  Paintball Palace is a local indoor paintball arena – equipment will be provided and additional equipment can be purchased at the Paintball Palace store.  Sign up fast because the tickets will go quick!

When: Saturday April 29th, 2017

Time: 11:00am – 2:35pm

Schedule: Meet at Dad’s Gate Station by 11:05am to board the public bus to Paintball Palace located at 1820 W. 7th Ave. The bus will leave at 11:17am and we should arrive at the arena by 11:40am. Check in for laser tag will begin around 11:45am with the games starting at 12:00pm.  We have a 2-hour time slot reserved so we will fit in as many games as we can.  We can expect to stay until 2:10am(ish) and to return to the Campus by 2:35pm.

What to Bring:  Clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, Closed-toed Shoes, as well as money or cash for any food, souvenirs, and other items you wish to purchase.

*****Paintballs that are used are non-toxic and made of biodegradable materials and the field paint washes out of clothing easily.  However it is still recommended that you:

  •  Dress in layers
  •  Wear a hat, beanie, do-rags, etc.
  •  Gloves to protect bare hands
  •  Extra clothing to change into is ideal
  •  SHOES ARE REQUIRED!!!

April 22nd, 2017 – Portland Timbers Soccer

Let’s go to Portland to watch the  Timbers take on the Vancouver Whitecaps for an afternoon of world-famous MLS Soccer.  Join us as we cheer on the Timbers as they make a push to repeat their championship run.

When: Saturday, April 22nd, 2017

Schedule: Please meet in front of the  REC Center at 8:45am, departure at 9:00am, arrival in downtown Portland by 11:00am. Game starts at 1:00pm so we will have a couple of hours to explore the Portland area, grab a bite to eat and then make our way to the stadium. The game should last about 2 hours and we will be returning to campus by 6/6:30pm.

What to Bring:  comfortable clothes – Bring money for any food, souvenirs, and any other things you wish to buy.

April 21st, 2017 – Ducks vs. Stanford Baseball

Come relax with ExplOregon Friday April 12th as we take in the great American Pastime Baseball.  Come with us as we cheer along our Ducks Baseball team will as they battle against our PAC-12 rivals the Stanford Cardinals.  It is free to everyone with a UO I.D. card – to be shown at the ticket gate.

When: Friday, April 21st

Schedule: Meet in front of McKenzie Hall by 5:25pm to take the public bus, which leaves at 5:38PM.  We will  arrival at PK Park around 5:45pm. If the weather is nice we may choose to walk or you are free to meet us there if you wish.  Game starts at 6:00pm and should end around 8:30pm.  We will return to the Campus around 9:00pm.

What to Bring:  comfortable clothes, money for any food, souvenirs, and any other things you wish to buy.

April 15th, 2017 – Tulip Festival & Woodburn Outlets

Join us at this year’s Tulip Festival where you can stroll through 40 acres of stunningly beautiful of flowers, expansive views of vineyards, distant mountains. Then Let’s spend the afternoon shopping at the Woodburn Shopping Outlets one of the top shopping locations in Oregon & Washington!

When: Saturday, April 15th

Schedule: Please meet in front of the  REC Center at 8:40am, we will depart from campus at 9:00am and arrive at the Tulip Festival in Woodburn Oregon around 10:30am.  After a few hours taking in the beautiful scenery we will then make our way to the Woodburn Premium Outlets at 12:00pm for lunch and a few hours shopping.  We will return to the Rec Center by 5:00pm.

What to Bring: comfortable clothes, money for shopping, food, souvenirs and any other items you wish to purchase.

April 12th, 2017 – Culinary Knife Skills – CANCELED

Have you ever been watching the Food Network and think “how do those people cut their food like that?”, well if so you’re not alone.  Know this, we have the perfect event for you… On April 12th ExplOregon will be headed to the Campus Kitchen for a little bit of Culinary Knife Skills training from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.  So sign up today and lean how to cut like a pro!

Schedule: meet in front of the REC Center by 2:30pm because the charter bus will leave campus at 3:00pm. We will arrival at the Moda Center in Portland by 5:00pm. We will get to the stadium early so that you can explore the area a little bit before we head in to watch the game. The game will start at 7:00pm and end around 9:30pm. We will return to the Rec Center around midnight.
