Below is a link to part of a This American Life episode that originally aired in 2003, but is still a hotly-debated topic today. It’s about an environmental activist in Montana that used to be vehemently opposed to cattle grazing on open range, but eventually changes his mind. It’s really interesting to think about what it means to be an environmentalist, and what it means to call yourself an environmentalist (especially when there are so many emotional, political and economic connotations to the label).
