It appears that work on the pipeline on federal lands has been forestalled by the Obama administration and three federal agencies. Myself I am a bit confused, as a federal judge denied an injunction blocking the pipeline’s progress, like, minutes before the executive branch said, “yea, but no really, block the pipeline.” But relevant here is that we have been following this and discussing different tropes and strategies for bringing attention to environmental and social issues, and it seems like we have a relatively historic grassroots effort that is still unfolding as we speak: https://insideclimatenews.org/news/09092016/energy-transfer-dakota-access-oil-pipeline-construction-standing-rock-sioux-tribes-obama-administration?utm_source=Inside+Climate+News&utm_campaign=65a2ec7992-Weekly_Newsletter_Week_of_6_126_17_2016&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_29c928ffb5-65a2ec7992-327526485&mc_cid=65a2ec7992&mc_eid=95b131a759
