Step Right Up to the… Duck Variety Show!

Welcome to winter term Ducklings! I have an exciting new project to share with you all…The EMU team is constantly looking for creative and new opportunities to bring the MOST to student’s lives and the Duck Variety Show is no exception.

Starting on Saturday, Jan. 9, and running throughout winter term, the Duck’s Variety Show will post episodes for the Duck community to tune into. The show will consist of a multitude of interactive activities, a showcase of student talent, performers and weekly Duck challenges.

Zach Fairchild is the Special Events Coordinator of Major Student Life and the head of this new project. In our current world, it is easy to feel very isolated from your community however, Zach has been working tirelessly to bring back student engagement through this online series. He hopes people feel compelled to not only watch the episodes but play an active role by participating in certain segments.

“Tell Me Something Good” is one of the features that encourage people to submit photos, short videos or stories of positive occurrences that happened to them the prior week. These stories will be exhibited on the episodes to be shared with everyone. “Ten Second Talent” is another playful opportunity for people to participate by submitting a short video of something unique they can do.

These segments, as well as the entirety of the show, are designed to create a new, interactive online community where people feel willing to engage and share their lives with other fellow Ducks. So tune in to the first episode and follow the link below to the submission page to be featured in the future!
