Journal #12
Wow! I loved class on Thursday! Dr. Dawson was so interesting to listen to and i was fascinated by her work on campus, the way she interacted with all of us students and the demos she preformed in class. In my opinion I think this was the class with the most participation so far this term. I think one of my favorite parts we did as a class was splitting up into smaller groups of three, mine being Erin, Mara Elise and myself. We had great conversations and I really got to know a lot about them, both of their own opinions on topics and helping to shape my own thoughts in a new way. I learned a lot about the human heart that i did not know before. It was incredible to be able to hold a real human heart. In my high school we did many different dissections but nothing as thought provoking as this heart I was holding. I was fascinated about how this heart was working in the humans chest and even more curious about the human who had this heart beating inside its chest for his or her whole life. It is wild to think I was holding someones life line my own hands, the reason why someone was breathing was so small and weirdly colored and muscular heart.
