For my end of the year project I am hoping to look deeper into the environment and naturally occurring art.
The first artist I am hoping to look into is Lisa K. Blatt. She seems to have a minimalistic approach to her artwork which seems to bring some mystery of the environment into her photos. The second artist I am using for my project is Ned Kahn. He replicates parts of the natural forces and forms of the world.

Lisa K. Blatt
Her website even encompasses the idea of minimalism. I was kind of confused exploring her website even though it was so basic. She lives in San Francisco but she travels around the world, to both hot and cold, to take landscape photography. She does not take these trips for pleasure but they are all for her artistic research. She is interested in the intersection of nature and culture. She also travels with scientists and observes and takes notes on the experiments they are conducting to add to her photographic research. (https://artcollection.ucsf.edu/artist/lisa-blatt )
Ned Kahn
He uses physics, geology, astronomy and fluid motion to inspire his works of art. Kahn lives and works mainly out of California. His goal with his art is to inspire and engage the viewers with these natural processes he is working with. He hopes to unveil some of the mystery behind the world. He seems to use mainly natural items and incorporates them into his photographs. (http://nedkahn.com)

Lisa K. Blatt:
Something I am hoping to get to know further about her and her art is she
Here is a link to a website that clearly shows some of her artwork. She explores the ideas of why do humans experience landscape by mainly what we see and not the things we do not readily see.
Why is her work so minimalistic?
Why does she go through all these extreme climates and different cultures to get her art work?

Ned Kahn
Something that intrigues me to search deeper into is how he uses natural items like water, sand, fog, light and other items to create his beautiful works of art. I can not wait to see more pictures of different types of works he has completed over the years.
What drew him to these natural objects in the first place?
What age did he first begin to have this love for the natural world?
