Journal #6

I read two articles titled “Designing for the Web” and “Principles and Elements of Design” written by Joshua David McClurg-Genvese. He mainly talks about the basic ideas behind digital design and the elements that are mainly used within the design community. He shows examples of his own earlier work and criticizes the mistakes he now sees. In the article “Principles and Elements of Design”, he tries to further the readers  understanding of what he has been talking about and bring it to real life situations. In other words relating theory to real life practice. He talks about different aspects of design like rhythm, proportion, color, point and other types of design flaws that make a good design great.

I enjoyed this article but it was almost kind of boring for me to read. The context was wonderfully written i was just not as intrigued by the concepts as i originally thought i would be. It was a lot of information thrown at you at once. It was very interesting to see his own design work and hear his criticism and how he feels now about these pieces he created.
