Interested in a leadership position with ELAN? We are looking for a new Financial Chair to start in January 2014. Interested candidates will submit a self nomination by October 25th. ELAN will select a candidate by October 28th. Once selected you will begin a training process with the current Financial Chair and transition into the position starting in January. The Financial Chair will have the opportunity to be involved in the organizing of ELAN events, connect with the local and national Emerging Leaders Network and be a part of a nationally recognized student leadership organization. Being a member of the ELAN leadership team can teach you skills in financial management, marketing, event planning, leadership, program development and networking. It is also a highly rewarding experience and great way to get to know AAD students and faculty.

Financial Chair Job Description:

-Facilitate all of ELAN’s financial transactions.
-Represent ELAN in contact with ASUO including: participation on ASUO Programs listserv and attendance at required monthly ASUP Program Council Meetings.
-Prepare and present ELAN’s annual ASUO budget.
-Maintain internal financial records, including timely recording of transactions in all of ELAN’s indexes as well as projection of future transactions.
-Consult with other ELAN Leadership team members-particularly the Chair-to ensure that funds are spent appropriately, fairly, and thoroughly.
-Attend all of ELAN meetings, community functions, and events.
-Assist with coordination of events and other tasks as needed.

ELAN positions are open to all graduate students interested in the arts.
