ELAN is excited to welcome Alexandra (Alex) Richardson as our new Administrative Chair for the 2013/2014 academic year!
Calling Portland, OR her hometown for most of her life, Alex graduated from Portland State University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s in psychology. Before returning to school in 2012, she worked with musicians and record labels at a music manufacturing company and served in management roles of fashion boutiques. Over the years, Alex has volunteered with the Portland Institute For Contemporary Art and the music festival PDX Pop Now!, has played in bands, and has acted in music videos. Interestingly, she has also taken second place in “get low” dance contests two times!
Alex will intern during the summer of 2013 with the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History. She is excited to learn about best practices for community engagement within cultural institutions by helping to facilitate community events at the museum. For her terminal research, Alex plans to focus on the intersection of the personal and group experience of the concertgoer at live music concerts.
Having had the time of her life helping put on the OUT/LOUD Queer Women’s Music Festival in downtown Eugene this past June, Alex is excited to also serve as the Performing Arts Coordinator of the UO Cultural Forum during 2013-14, where she will book performing acts for the campus. Welcome, Alex!
