Meet Katrina Laura Ketchum, ELAN’s new Chair

We are pleased to welcome Katrina Laura Ketchum, ELAN’s new incoming Chair for the 2012/2013 academic year.

Trailing to Oregon from Alberta, Canada, Katrina lived in the city of Calgary before coming to the University of Oregon to study Arts Administration. Katrina holds a B.A. in English Literature (cum laude) with a focus on poetry and travel literature. Passionate about community arts and creative-city placemaking, Katrina’s has experience in arts administration, public relations, strategic communications and board relations. She has served as Arts Editor for the Calgary based website, CalgaryisAwesome.com, Audience Service Manager at Theatre Junction GRAND, and as Secretary to the Board of Directors at the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. This past year, Katrina served as ELAN’s Public Relations Representative for both the winter & spring academic terms.

Katrina is particularly interested in urban arts, specifically city-initiated arts planning, placemaking and cultural development. She has served as an intern for the Arts & Business Alliance of Eugene, the Creative Advocacy Network, and most recently, the City of Portland’s Arts EAST Plan. To this Chair position, Katrina brings her enthusiasm for the growing national Emerging Leaders Network and her desire to act as a liaison between arts, artists and audiences.  Katrina continues to be genuinely fascinated by instant film processing and the natural beauty of Oregon.
