Meet Katrina Ketchum, ELAN’s New Public Relations Representative!

ELAN is pleased to welcome Katrina Ketchum into our Leadership Team’s Public Relations Representative position for the remainder of the 2011/2012 academic year.

From Alberta, Canada, Katrina Ketchum received her Bachelor of Arts in English at St. Mary’s University College in Calgary with a focus in poetry, fiction writing, and women’s travel literature.  During her undergraduate studies, Katrina participated in volunteer work initiatives, including overseas travel to India, Hawaii, Barbados, and Western Europe. Katrina is currently a Master’s Candidate in the Arts Administration program with a focus in Community Arts Management.

Katrina loves community arts and artistic collaboration, and has a solid background in administration, public relations, and board development. Her professional public relations experience in the arts includes her role as an Arts Editor for the Calgary based website, CalgaryisAwesome.com, as well as work at the contemporary live arts culture house, Theatre Junction GRAND. She has served as a board member, Art Walk promoter, and Executive Director for the nonprofit organization, Canadian Artists for the Poor, and has also served as the Secretary to the Board of Directors at the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.

Katrina is passionate about the intersect between the arts, artists, and public engagement.  She brings a high level of energy and creativity to the position of ELAN’s Public Relations Representative and is both excited and honored to join the leadership team!
