Call for Artists! Beats & Brushstrokes 2012!

Beats and Brushstrokes, the annual fundraiser for the University of Oregon student chapter of the Emerging Leaders in the Arts Network (ELAN), will be held on Saturday, Feb 25th, 2012. The event will feature live music, a donated beer/wine bar, and a silent auction featuring original works of art created by utilizing old records. All funds raised go to support ELAN’s arts programming and professional development activities.

At this time, ELAN is seeking local artists and University of Oregon students to donate an original work of art to be placed for auction. Using a vinyl record or record sleeve as a canvas, artists can create paintings, collages, mixed-media, sculptural works, etc. Anything goes as long as the record or sleeve is used as the main canvas. Artists may provide their own record or sleeve, or can contact ELAN to provide these items free of charge.

This fundraiser is a great opportunity to build your arts network, support your local arts community, and have an opportunity to share your artistic vision with the Eugene arts community.

All finished works should be turned in to an ELAN representative in the AAD Resource Room (256 Lawrence) on the University of Oregon campus. Early work submissions may be included in informal exhibitions leading up to the event. If you are unable to deliver in person and need to arrange for shipping or pick-up, please contact Emily Dobkin at edobkin@oregon.edu.

Further details on Beats & Brushstrokes will be announced in mid-January.

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD TO OTHER ARTISTS!!!
