Volunteer for PICA’s Time-Based Art Festival!
When: Between August 29th – October 30th
Where: Portland, OR

The Portland Institute of Contemporary Art needs volunteers for this year’s Time-Based Art Festival! There are have lots of opportunities (and really great incentives!) for folks who want to be an important part of TBA:11. PICA is currently looking for volunteers who want to be a part of their Build Out Crew, Works crew, and Visual Art Gallery crew. LOCUS: Changing Place Exhibition
When: Thursday, September 1st from 6-9 PM
Where: White Box @ UO Portland

On Thursday, Sept. 1st, as part of Portland’s First Thursday Art Walk, the White Box will host a very special closing reception for its current exhibition LOCUS: CHANGING PLACE. Award-winning Portland dancers and choreographers Tere Mathern (Executive Director of Conduit Studio) and Dawn Stopiello (pioneer in the Dance & Technology movement), along with Vanessa Vogel and Stephanie Schaaf, will perform original choreography in response to the current exhibition’s experiments with space, place, and bodily perception. Don’t miss this unique night in the beautiful White Stag building as they celebrate interdisciplinary intersections in visual art and performance! Gallery open 6-9pm. Performance begins at 7:30pm. Free of charge. Drinks and refreshments will be served.

Americans for the Arts Webinar: Working Together for Arts Education
When: September 7th at 1 PM
Where: Online

Join Americans for the Arts for a presentation discussing best practices for local arts agencies when working with teaching artists and vice versa. The webinar will include topics such as managing expectations, contracts, and more. All webinars are free for Americans for the Arts members and are available for $35 for non-members. You can either join live on September 7th at 4:00 p.m. EDT or view it later on-demand.

PICA’s Time-Based Art (TBA) Festival
When: September 8-18th
Where: Portland, OR

PICA’s annual Time-Based Art Festival (TBA) draws artists from across the country and around the globe for a convergence of contemporary performance and visual art in Portland, Oregon. Now in its ninth year, the TBA Festival is presented September 8-18, 2011, with visual art exhibits running through October. TBA activates the entire community with art and ideas. AAD Community Partner Reception
When: September 22nd from 3-5 PM
Where: Hult Center for the Performing Arts, Eugene, OR

ELAN is pleased to host the UO Arts & Administration Department’s annual Community Partner Reception. This is a wonderful opportunity for both new and returning AAD students to meet local arts leaders in the Eugene area and learn about opportunities available through their organizations.

JSMA’s Museum After Hours
When: September 23rd from 6-9 PM

Where: Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, Eugene, OR

Visit the JSMA on the evening of September 23rd for live music, a special menu from Marché Museum Café, beer from Ninkasi and wine from Sweet Cheeks Winery. $5 for general public; free to students and JSMA members.
