ATTAINABLE EQUALITY

Intelligent beings have language represented by articulate sounds; organized being’s, like all animals and vegetables, express themselves with cries or forms, contour or carriage. Inorganic nature has only the language of color. It is by color alone that objects tell us their meaning. There are countless number ways the design of one’s environment puts them at a disadvantage. People are regularly dis empowered by our built environment. Quality of life depends on access to opportunities, and those opportunities. While architecture may not be able to directly change a societies’ prejudices, architecture can change how people live. If we remove prejudice practices from architecture we can design an attainable world with equality for all. The goal is to create a colorful place that people are happy and healthy with easy access to services that fulfill their biological and social needs within their reachable environment. The design of cities and heir buildings are critical in the world’s changing environmental, social and political climates. It is important to design places that supports equality and diversity and empowers it’s users. variety of resources readily available to people within the place they live. rejection of chromophobia and all other bias. chroma therapy through the constructed environment. come here for health, stay here for quality of life.  bring hope to dire circumstances by imagining colorful alternative futures and envisioning bright possibilities.

This midterm was a great opportunity for feedback on this very broad social concept and architectural project.

Reviewer suggestions:

Rethink my title to include chromophilia.

Create a structural system that won’t cost a lot of money and is feasible to build, a more regular system than I have now. Possibilities include regular floor plates, with a double skin that allows for the crystal form to be maintained.

Opportunities for sustainability such as rain water collection, green interior space, natural ventilation, solar energy collection, and wind energy collection.

Develop sky bridges to connect important spaces within complex. Opportunity for carbon collection or urban farming.

Add more atrium\open spaces within the sections of my buildings to create a more varied spatial reasoning.

Personal goals beyond reviewer input:

Develop a logical system for colors chosen.

Provide users with personal and public green space.

Design interior space of the rainbow journey.

Develop a system that allows for the exterior skin to not have mullions (perhaps place them on the interior) and pick out colored glass to create the intended colorful facade.

Develop the interiors of the apartments to create better living spaces.

Push my presentation, rendering, and artistic skills through a really creative poster and artistic representations of my projects. Use multiple medias to create a very artistic poster and display.

Model the rainbow journey through circulation in an abstract manner so reviewers can understand visually the intent of the use of color.

Test wind speed in the courtyard of my project to determine if it is actually viable, usable space.

Overall, the midterm was a great way to re-evaluate the progress on the project and determine organization and design priorities for the rest of the term.
