Disorient 2014: The 9th Annual Disorient Film Festival

Celebrating new and independent films by, for, and about Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI), DisOrient  brings a diversity of filmmakers, writers, actors and artists from all over the world to Eugene where they showcase their work and hold discussions with the audience.

An all-access pass admitting you to every film screening plus The Opening Night Reception and Closing Night Awards Gala is available for $50. www.disorientfilm.org 

DisOrient is famous for getting lots of film professionals to attend. Year after year they enjoy engaging the Eugene audience in discussing social and political issues, along with filmmaking styles and techniques. Count on lots of opportunities to meet the filmmakers.

Some of this year’s different events: the first film screenings on Saturday and Sunday are free; Saturday night, comedienne  Kate Rigg is holding a “talk back” about race; And Sunday night, The Haumana, with Johnny Kealoha promising to teach Hula to teenage boys.
