The 13th ranked Oregon baseball team clinched a series victory over no. 21 Stanford with a 6-4 win on Saturday afternoon in Eugene. UO junior Ryon Healey went 3-3 at the plate with two opposite field home runs. The Ducks got off to a quick start, scoring all six of their runs in the first four innings. Both of Healey’s blasts were two-run HR’s, the first shot coming in the first inning and the second in the fourth.
Oregon freshman pitcher Cole Irvin (8-2) gave up four runs and 10 hits through seven innings. Closer Jimmie Sherfy retired Stanford’s final six batters to earn his 14th save of the season.
