DREAM Lab Usage Guidelines

Who is the DREAM Lab for?

The DREAM Lab offers a dedicated space for faculty, GEs, staff, and their students to engage in collaborative digital scholarship and educational technology work.

What spaces are there?

The DREAM Lab has six dedicated reservable and non-reservable spaces, including 2 private collaboration rooms, a sofa area with bar-height seating attached, and a 32 seat workshop space. Each of these spaces features large screens and video conferencing technology, with support for bringing your own device, including electrical outlets and hardwired data connections. There are also two non-reservable spaces, the alcove with a large screen with data network access and electrical outlets, and a walk-in area with tables and chairs.

What type of programming does the DREAM Lab support?

Programming for the DREAM Lab includes workshops on digital scholarship tools and techniques, data management and visualization, instructional design, accessibility, user experience, and assessment.

DREAM LAB TERMS & CONDITIONS

The purpose of the DREAM Lab is to support faculty, graduate students, and staff across the university engaged in digital scholarship and pedagogy and supporting innovative teaching, experimentation, and consultation. The Lab is managed by the University of Oregon Libraries Digital Scholarship Services department, in coordination with the Data Services department and the Research and Instructional Services department. These departments may schedule meetings or events in the DREAM Lab as needed throughout the year.

  • There are no room-use, room set-up, or technology fees for the DREAM Lab for what is currently available. For any special furniture or technology needs beyond the current setup, please contact Digital Scholarship Services, digitalscholarship@uoregon.edu
  • Specific furniture arrangements should be requested at the time of reservation. Every effort will be made to accommodate such requests when possible and within safety guidelines
  • Faculty, graduate, and staff are welcome to use Collaboration Rooms, the Workshop Space, and the Sofa Area on a drop-in basis, as long as there are no other events/meetings scheduled.
  • Food and drinks are welcome in the DREAM Lab, but please promptly report spills to staff and clear tables of trash.
  • Please change or cancel reservations with as much advance notice as possible to make the space available to others
    DREAM Lab staff may assist meeting organizers with basic technology set-up and troubleshooting during meetings and events. A variety of cables and adapters are available for checkout at the desk.
