Digital Scholarship Librarian

Kate joined the University of Oregon Libraries in February 2018. She serves as the Digital Research, Education, and Media (DREAM) Lab’s operations manager where she supervises limited duration library employees, coordinates lab staffing, assessment, and evaluation, and supports DREAM Lab technology instruction.

She is also responsible for the digital scholarship project management connected to digital humanities and digital social science awards and grants, and leads UO Libraries cultural heritage repository service management for Oregon Digital.

Franny Gaede

Head of Digital Scholarship Services

Franny Gaede joined the University of Oregon Libraries as Head of Digital Scholarship Services in August 2017. She provides leadership and support for digital scholarship, digital collections, digital preservation, scholarly communication, and library-led open access publishing.

Franny also oversees vision and leadership for the DREAM Lab.

Anna Lepska

Digital Scholarship Specialist Graduate Employee

Anna Lepska joined the the University of Oregon Libraries in 2019 as Digital Scholarship Specialist GE. She supports Digital Scholarship Services with project management and digital media technologies experience. As part of her position, Hanna supports the Caribbean Women Healers project, developing technology instruction guides, and contributing and supporting DREAM Lab programming and the service desk.
Julia Simic

Julia Simic

Assistant Head of Digital Scholarship Services, Digital Production and Preservation

Julia Simic joined the the University of Oregon Libraries in 2006 as the Visual Resources Librarian. Since then, her responsibilities have expanded to oversight of digital and photographic reproduction for the Libraries as well as working closely with UO Libraries Collection Services and Library Technology Services on metadata and digital preservation matters.

Rayne Vieger

eLearning and Open Educational Resources (OER) Academic Librarian

Rayne Vieger joined the University of Oregon Libraries in April 2019 as an eLearning and Open Educational Resources (OER) Academic Librarian, where she leads the library’s initiatives in online learning and OER. This role brings together digital scholarship with digital pedagogy through instructional design, open education, educational technology, and the integration of faculty-based digital scholarship and research into teaching and learning. Rayne enjoys providing instructional design services and faculty development opportunities related to best practices in the online and hybrid learning environments, and the adoption and creation of OER.
