Exercise 3: Light, Transformation and Form 

Create a 1 to 2 minute animation which explores varied lighting in a range of hues and highlighted movements of people, objects or performers. Optionally incorporate transformation of forms or spaces over time. Also at this your discretion use this exercise to test themes related to your final project for the term.

  1. Use a range of artificial and/or natural lighting sources (e.g., spotlight, point light, sunlight, etc.)
  2. Create one or several separate sequences at the same resolution.
  3. Work with one or more objects.
  4. Optionally work with object instances through the use of particles.
  5. Render your work in medium to high production quality.
  6. Record your work to a jpeg animation sequence(s) and compile the resulting animation in iMovieD or an alternative editing environment, but saved “mp4” file format.
  7. Place your work in the courses submit folder and submit a short 1 to 2 paragraph written description by email to emark@uoregon.edu.
