ABOUT THIS PAGE
We have been experimenting with Google Earth as a tool for education and lecturing. On this page one can find some movies we have made (still in progress, so check back) as well as (hopefully soon) Google Earth kmz files of our research, field work and other interests.
Several people have participated in the making of the movies.
Edward Marshall is a high school student from Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia. He came to work in Douglas Toomey’s lab during January 2007 for his Junior Project. The Junior Project is an assignment where students from Germantown Friends School leave campus during January to pursue their interests. While visiting Oregon, Edward worked on two tasks, making Google Earth movies for Doug, and learning about seismology in order to work on data that Emilie Hooft and Bryndis Brandisdottir collected from the Kolbeinsy ridge north of Iceland. Edward will return in August 2007 to continue his work.
