WHY I CAME TO THE UO AND HOW I CHOSE MY MAJOR
I came to the University of Oregon wanting to explore an unfamiliar place and experience an entirely different lifestyle. In the College of Design there is a strong sense of community and everyone is passionate about creating and making a better world.
As a kid, I always wanted to create. My passion for architecture became apparent to me as I got older.
UNIQUE QUALITIES I BRING TO MY STUDIES
As I mentioned, I am creative. My strengths are my computer-aided programs and drawings. In terms of my character, I would say that I possess perseverance and passion for the architecture profession.
MY INFLUENTIAL PROFESSORS
Alison Kwok pushed me to keep trying despite the number of attempts I failed to get into the program. She inspired me to reevaluate myself while I faced an identity crisis. Her advice to me is to ignore the noise around me and keep doing what you’re passionate about.
MY EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am involved with the UO student groups, Hui’ O Hawai’i and Kultura Pilipinas. They both play a significant role in my identity, and I consider them home.
MY GREATEST LEARNING EXPERIENCE AT UO
The greatest learning experience I have had so far at UO is patience and growth. There have been many mistakes I’ve made while waiting for my time, but when it arrives, it is always amazing. The lesson teaches me patience and to understand the lessons presented.
AFTER GRADUATION
I envision myself after graduation working in a firm and trying to make a name for myself. My architectural skills are sharpened and I am able to acquire knowledge through the College of Design Education.
YOUR GIFT
The Brownell Frasier Memorial Endowed Fund scholarship allows me to excel in my education in interior architecture. As a result, I am able to reduce stress for myself and my parents. I am very grateful to have been selected.
Thank you for establishing this scholarship. I am truly grateful and blessed!
