WHY I CAME TO THE UO AND HOW I CHOSE MY MAJOR
I chose to attend the University of Oregon because I wished to continue living and studying in the state of Oregon, and I like the faculty and sense of community within the College of Design.

I chose to major in art because I realized I needed to keep making art throughout my life, and that it’s genuinely what I wanted to pursue.

UNIQUE QUALITIES I BRING TO MY STUDIES
I have been a working student throughout my time at the university and I come from a family and background that values hard work and discipline.

MY INFLUENTIAL PROFESSORS
I’ve had wonderful experiences with both of my painting professors at UO, Sylvan Lionni and Sun You.

MY GREATEST LEARNING EXPERIENCE AT UO
I’ve learned that hard work is important, but burning myself out is not worth it in the long run.

AFTER GRADUATION
I hope to be able to pursue an art-related career in the future, including art-related education.

YOUR GIFT
Receiving this scholarship allows me to feel like I’m established in my degree and field at the university after a year of community college and online school. This scholarship allows me the opportunity to continue my education and take the time I need in order to do so. It is helping me through another term at UO where I can continue to learn and grow in my studio art classes.

Thank you so much! This scholarship means the world to me.
