The Melvin E. Streeter Memorial Scholarship in Architecture

The Streeter family established this scholarship in 2006 to honor Melvin E. Streeter, AIA, BArch ’55 (1931–2006), who attended UO on an Army scholarship and was the second African American on the Ducks basketball team and the only African American player at the time. This scholarship seeks to encourage a diverse student population in the Departments of Architecture and Interior Architecture, when all other criteria for excellence in scholarship are equal, special consideration can be given to eligible students of color, female students of all races, and other under-represented groups.
