WHY I CAME TO THE UO AND HOW I CHOSE MY MAJOR
I chose to attend the University of Oregon because the Interior Architecture and Architecture Departments are committed to environmental conservation and sustainability. I am excited to discover ways of seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor spaces and creating harmony between human habitation and the natural environment.

I want to explore more in various scales of space, from Landscape architecture to Architecture, then to Interior Architecture. Utilizing what I have learned to examine spatial relationships in multiple scales.

UNIQUE QUALITIES I BRING TO MY STUDIES
After completing my undergraduate degree, I spent two years in California to learn English and immerse myself in American culture. Before coming to the US, I traveled to multiple countries to work on architecture and landscape architecture projects. My experience and knowledge of Asian culture, history, and techniques provide a unique perspective when I am working on design projects in studio.

MY INFLUENTIAL PROFESSORS
One of my most influential professors has been Esther Hagenlocher, who is an expert in education and design. In her classes, she provides comprehensive case studies for materials, colors, graphics, and techniques. During individual meetings, she remembers each student’s project details and obstacles. In the Color Theory, Domestic Housing Seminar, and Programming Studio courses, she provided abundant physical and digital resources to aid our learning.

MY GREATEST LEARNING EXPERIENCE AT UO
One of my greatest learning experiences has been to see that the professors are very inclusive. As an international student, I sometimes need help understanding assignment requirements and lecture content. They patiently explain things to me and provide examples to help me better understand.

AFTER GRADUATION
Upon completion of my studies, I am determined to fully immerse myself in the world of Interior Architecture. Thanks to the valuable knowledge and insight I acquired from UO, I am confident in my ability to discover and experiment with diverse spatial possibilities in practical projects.
