WHY I CAME TO THE UO AND HOW I CHOSE MY MAJOR
I am extremely passionate about ecological design, and the University of Oregon stood out as a school well suited to help me pursue this topic.

I love the process of building a project from start to finish and being able to watch the progression as new ideas come to life. I believe architects have a great responsibility to protect the environment and I wanted to take on the challenge.

UNIQUE QUALITIES I BRING TO MY STUDIES
I have studied abroad in Denmark and Italy, gaining both futuristic and historic design ideals. The past tells many stories of success and failure that push today’s design forward.

MY INFLUENTIAL PROFESSORS
My incoming class seminar was taught by Alison Kwok and Junichi Satoh who welcomed us with open arms. They showed us many ways that architecture influences the environment and how to create harmonious relationships between the two. They truly inspired all of us to follow our dreams in architecture and to push the boundaries to make the world better.

MY GREATEST LEARNING EXPERIENCE AT UO
All of my studios have been incredible and full of insightful opportunities. The most incredible experience I have gained so far is studying in Rome, Italy for the summer. It is something I didn’t know would be possible in my graduate studies because of the academic structure and financial requirements, but I am incredibly grateful to have gotten the experience.

AFTER GRADUATION
I am planning on becoming a licensed architect and joining a design firm. I would love to focus on environmental design to better the living conditions of both humans and non human organisms.

YOUR GIFT
I am so grateful to receive this award for my academic finances. This award is allowing me to pursue my graduate education and work towards getting licensed. Without it, I would have a much larger burden and stress on how to pay tuition and other fees which takes away from my academic experience. I feel that this is allowing me to take full advantage of the University of Oregon’s program by decreasing that stress.

I can’t say thank you enough for this award. It is truly changing my graduate education experience. I can’t wait to gain the plentiful knowledge that the University of Oregon has to offer and pursue architecture licensure in order to follow my dream of environmental design in architecture.
