I Am Originally From Huntington Beach, CA

WHY I CAME TO THE UO AND HOW I CHOSE MY MAJOR
I chose to attend the University of Oregon because it had the accredited program I was looking for, and it’s close to home!

It combined everything I love—the outdoors, graphic design, working with the community, and helping the environment.

UNIQUE QUALITIES I BRING TO MY STUDIES
I am a mature student with a long list of experiences, ranging from wife and mother, entrepreneur, artist, and car salesman!

MY INFLUENTIAL PROFESSORS
I really enjoy working with Arica Duhrkoop-Galas, Senior Instructor in Landscape Architecture.  She has a great personality, and an amazing work ethic. She is also very knowledgeable in her subjects, which focuses on plants and horticulture!

MY EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I have two children, and we are involved in many community activities.  Last year, I was on the board of the UO student chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), as well.

MY GREATEST LEARNING EXPERIENCE AT UO
My greatest learning experience at UO has been how to manage time, and keep moving forward, no matter what life brings!

AFTER GRADUATION
I plan on using my skills to take a family legacy cemetery that has gone through many years of neglect, vandalism and erosion, and turn it into a beautiful space to visit my ancestors, and for my own self to be laid to rest when the time comes.
