WHY I CAME TO THE UO AND HOW I CHOSE MY MAJOR
I chose the University of Oregon because of its multitude of campus activities, majors, and it’s priortization on equity.

I took a few sociology courses and discovered my passion for it. When I started taking art classes, I leared about landscape architecture, and I was immediately hooked!

UNIQUE QUALITIES I BRING TO MY STUDIES
As a major in Sociology minoring in Landscape Architecture, I bring together the arts and social sciences. I have the unique ability to understand the complexities and faults of society while simultaneously being able to design spaces that function well in an urban space.

MY INFLUENTIAL PROFESSORS
One of my most influential professors is Galen Martin, who teaches in the Department of International Studies. He focuses on environmental studies and sustainable agrriculture. Often, we are only taught about the tragedies in the U.S., but he opened my eyes to the tragic events that have happened and are happening all over the world. He taught me to always be curious.

MY GREATEST LEARNING EXPERIENCE AT UO
Taking digital media classes for landscape architecture was the most challenging thing I’ve had to do, but I’ve gained so many important skills from it. It taught me that hard work and consistency pays off.

AFTER GRADUATION
I imagine I will help companies prioritize sustainability and help incorporate sustainable practices into their business.
