WHY I CAME TO THE UO AND HOW I CHOSE MY MAJOR
I chose the University of Oregon because I wanted to attend an institution that was at the forefront of sustainable, human-centered architecture. My favorite thing about the College of Design is learning from professors who provide both practical and theoretical applications to complicated architectural and urban design problems that our society faces today.
I chose to pursue a Master of Architecture degree after working in the construction management and architecture industry in NYC. My work experience gave me the exposure I needed to decide that this was the career path for me.
UNIQUE QUALITIES I BRING TO MY STUDIES
I have an undergraduate degree in mathematics, and I bring this analytical and logical order to design. I also love the arts and art history, and I believe that math and art play well off of each other in architecture.
MY INFLUENTIAL PROFESSORS
Howard Davis, Professor of Architecture, who I had in Architectural Contexts in spring 2021, opened my eyes to the greater role that architecture plays in the urban context and within society.
MY EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am currently doing research with Professor Kyuho Ahn, Associate Professor of Interior Architecture, and it has been an incredible experience to learn about the impacts of lighting, indoor air quality, and other environmental features on different spaces.
MY GREATEST LEARNING EXPERIENCE AT UO
My greatest learning experience has been learning how architecture impacts the psychology of people, and aiming to design spaces that uplift the human condition.
AFTER GRADUATION
My dream after graduation is to pursue a career in architecture where I am able to make an impact on my local community through design projects.
