WHY I CAME TO THE UO AND HOW I CHOSE MY MAJOR
I chose the University of Oregon for its strengths in Asian and contemporary art history. I like being in the College of Design because of the opportunity to interact with other creators! Pursuing a PhD in art history within a design college was a major draw for me.

I took my first art history course as an undergraduate student and then pursued graduate coursework in the field.

UNIQUE QUALITIES I BRING TO MY STUDIES
I worked at the Walker Art Center in marketing before pursuing graduate studies at the University of Oregon.

MY INFLUENTIAL PROFESSORS
I really like my advisors, Dr. Jenny Lin and Kate Mondloch, both of whom were reasons for me to enroll at UO. I also enjoy working with Dr. Keith Eggener. He has become a valuable teaching and research mentor during my time at Oregon.

MY EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
I am involved with Art History Student Association. Outside of school, I am an active runner and marathoner. I am excited to run the Eugene Marathon in spring 2022! I have also curated exhibitions in Manhattan’s Chinatown expanding from my doctoral research.

MY GREATEST LEARNING EXPERIENCE AT UO
To be adaptable and open to new career paths and opportunities I may not have thought of before. I believe being confident in my strengths and passions will lead me to the perfect career.

AFTER GRADUATION
I hope to work in museum education and public programming in an art museum. I am most excited about digital learning!

YOUR GIFT
This scholarship is important to me because it allowed me to expand on research that I began in summer 2021 that led to the completion of my dissertation.

Thank you so much for your support! I am proud to represent the College of Design through my research.
