Call for Submissions: Amici Art Contest
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
Artists from across Lane County are invited to enter the tenth Amici Art Contest for a chance to win a cash prize and to appear on Amici’s posters, programs and other promotional materials during the 2019-2020 season.
The Amici Art Contest will accept submissions, which include a completed application form and a high-resolution digital image of the artwork, through Friday, January 11, 2019. Judges Anne Korn and Terry Way of Raven Frameworks and Jane Halvorsen, media arts faculty at Lane Community College, will then choose 10 finalists. Finalists will be notified and their framed artwork due by February 1 at the Emerald Art Center, 500 Main Street, Springfield. The artwork will be displayed there for the month of February and at Cascade Manor during March and April.
The five winners will be announced at the February 11, 2019 concert of Chamber Music Amici at the Richard E. Wildish Community Theatre, and the People’s Choice Award winner will be announced at the end of February. The five winners receive a cash prize of $200, and the People’s Choice Award winner receives a cash prize of $100.
The contest is held in cooperation with Emerald Art Center, which will host a reception on the Second Friday Art Walk, February 8, 2019, when visitors can vote for the People’s Choice Award, as well as during February. The contest is sponsored by John and Linda Van Peenen.

Chamber Music Amici is a resident company of the Richard E. Wildish Community Theatre in Springfield, Ore., that also holds performances at the John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts in Eugene.
