Community Volunteer Opportunity
I’m Andrea, a parent of two children attending Adams Elementary School (grades K-5), located on 22nd and Adams here in Eugene. I am the volunteer coordinator for the school’s existing classroom art program.
Utilizing materials from Meet the Masters, I gather volunteers to bring the lessons into the classrooms. Each term, classes are treated to a slide show and introductory presentation about an artist given by the volunteer from pre-scripted material. Then, the volunteer facilitates an art project using materials provided by the school. All tolled, volunteer participation time is 1.5-2 hours per classroom. The artist this term is Frida Kahlo.
Volunteers can present to only one class, or schedule times with several.
