The Disability Studies Minor
This fall the University of Oregon launched a new Disability Studies Minor in the Department of English, College of Arts and Sciences. Disability Studies takes a social justice perspective on the whole spectrum of disabilities, including psychological, physical, and sensory. The minor requires 24 credits and prepares students for careers and community involvement through knowledge of disability and Deaf cultures, politics, and histories. Courses range across the university and many of them satisfy UO Group, Multicultural, or Language Requirements.
