Carlene Ho Award for Excellence in the Arts
The Art Department is pleased to announce the continuation of the Carlene Ho Award for Excellence in the Arts, an exciting opportunity for our University of Oregon School of Art + Design students. The University of Oregon’s Ford Alumni Center and Art Department are collaborating on this art exhibition opportunity.
Students in the BFA or MFA programs along with art majors in their senior year of study are eligible to submit work to this biannual art competition and exhibition. Two artists’ work will be chosen to display their work in the beautiful Ford Alumni Center for a period of six months. There will be cash awards, of $500 each, for artistic excellence given to the chosen artists.
All forms of art are welcome and encouraged, although please keep in mind the space is primarily used as an office environment. Two-dimensional pieces are ideal, which might include but are not limited to: paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media works, photography, site-specific wall drawings, and wall mounted sculptures along with other alternative possibilities that can be contained on a wall will also be considered.
One wall is approximately 60″ x 60″ and the other space is narrower but taller at approximately 45″ wide x 80 inches tall.
Deadline for full consideration of your work is Friday, October 13th by 5 PM.
